What does VideoStudio Pro X4 Ultimate have over the others?

Post by aliasdesignz »

Can someone tell me why I should purchase Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 over the other video editing softwares. There are a lot of really good video editing softwares out there but how do you pick the one you want to use? I have used quite a few of them and it always happened where the one that we were using did not have the transition the other one had or the effects were better on another software version. Who has the best/most 3rd party add-on software without issues?

Hope you can shine some light on this for me!
Happy editing!

Thank you!!

This is the Corel USER forums - except for a very very small minority no one on here works for Corel - it therefore follows that everyone posting on here falls into a broad spectrum ranging from a number of old hands like me who have used VideoStudio for years and quite honestly think that for the price it is the best editing software around to newer users who for various reasons hate VideoStudio with a passion because it does not work correctly on their particular computer or because it will not (or appears not) to do what they want. To discuss and promote other software editors would be against the basic rules of the forum which state that these forums are for the discussion of Corel products only.

Yes there are issues with VideoStudio for some users but for me there are no issues it works great - there is only one way for you to make a proper assessment and that is to test drive it yourself - which is why Corel make it available as a FREE 30 day trial - so why not download and test it out.

In addition to what BrianCee said, I think it would be best that you download and use the trial version of the program to see if it meets your needs. Since we honestly do not know what are you looking in a video editing software, as for plugins... NewBlueFX has a lot of effects that you can choose from, aside from the other plugins that are included when you purchased the VS X4 Ultimate edition.

Just visit www.corel.com/trials, to download the trial version of VS X4.

I totally understand about "This is a Corel USER forum" comment but I really wanted to know what people liked over the other VSE's or why they chose VS Pro. I wanted something to tip the scales for me. I do all kinds of editing from fun and family stuff to corporate stuff and everything in between. I am a wow factor kind of person.

Thank you again for your thoughts.

I tested this "vegas" was it sony or something, and also saw how the expensive adobe's app was used.
Corel's price and easy to use is top notch!

On my pc i had only few minor problems and after 30trial it was easy decision to purchase. Works smooth wit my canon legria hrf106.
It is jus so easy and fast to edit cut and move those videos!
+ video tutorials were great! watch them before trying to use the app
++ it's faaaast! fast to edit and cut, fast to render the result. If you make alot put the smart cache to SSD and buy a new sata-hd that has alot of free space (old hd's are sh*t)

Minuses:
- haven't figured out how to make some photo panning to zoom under 100%
- most gui-elements don't remember their last position or last entered value, so app is not learning from you like apps of today should

Thank you very much Jukka, I really appreciate the feedback. I do agree on the price, hard to believe it is tht inexpensive (not that I would complain). My laptop did come with a full non-retail ver of VS Pro X3 and I do really like it. It also came with Powerdirector and liked some of the differences they had that VS Pro X3 does not have. However, it does look like X4 filled in those gaps, or most of them, and I will definatly give it a shot this weekend (while the wife is away) on the trial version. I will post my thoughts and/or questions after.

Thank you again for your comments,
