I just re-saved that PNG file using IrfanView and it still shows DPI when I view the properties in PSP8 and in X2. However, I lost the transparency even though I told IrfanView to save it. I tried various options with IrfanView but I lose the transparency no matter what I do.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

I tried another experiment. I opened a PNG file in CompuPic that I knew showed CPI instead of DPI in PSP. I saved it as a new file and now it shows DPI when I look at the image info in PSP.
