MERGING FILMS IN EDITING MODE

Post by Viddynick »

Hi everyone - strangely things have been going for right for one and I have been quiet on here! BUT latest query:

I want to butt two films together (which were made separately and titled separately) and currently still exist as project files within the suite and turn them into ONE film with some small further editing. Is this possible please?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
Viddynick.

Hi

Nice to hear that things are working ok
Yes that is possible to combine the projects.

There are two options

1/
Convert each project to a video file—Share Create Video File
What you choose here depends on your original video files properties and what you intend to create.
Start a new project and simply add each new video file to the timeline to complete the project.
OR
If the two Video files are complete as separate movies, Start a new project, add them both to the Share Create Disc stage to burn a disc. You will get a thumbnail/link in the menu for each movie added.

2 /
Nesting projects is another option, I don’t use this option as it can cause some problems.
Open the first project, (file Open Project) right click the timeline and select Insert Video browse for the second VSP project file, will be added as a single clip.
Continue to edit the project.

Trevor - you've come up trumps again for me - cheers mate - really appreciate your help - thanks for your trouble in typing up the instructions.

Have just tried it and succeeded - very grateful - got me out of a problem in duplicating work already done! Just brilliant - thanks a lot.
