My PSPX4 is falling apart.

Post by LoneyBones »

Just in case there is already a post by me, all I can say is, "it fell into cyber space, so it must have fallen out again."
My problem. My PSPX4 is crumbling.
To be precice;
The curser shivers when I'm opening or closing a picture file.
The sliders jump up and down when I'm opening or closing a picture file.
This has been happening for about three days. (sorry I can't be exact about the length of time)
Today my PSPX4 closed down with "This program has to close down"

Generally I would contact the manufacturers, but it seems there is no way to do that.
So here I am. I'd really appreciate some help.
Leonie.

Wouldn't have a clue. I just use it, someone else built it. Name some and I'll have a guess. :?

Hi

Try using Belarc Advisor

The address is also shown via your User Control Panel – Profile. Should help with info regarding your pc.

OK, it's NVIDEA, says so on my bio.
But I don't make videos.
If there was a problem with my video card I'd be having problems with other programs. In fact with the whole computer.
I'm only having problems with Corel PaintShop Pro X4.
My concern is that I bought it online and don't have a CD if anything goes wrong. There also seems to be no back-up service. At least none that I can access.
Begining to think I made a mistake buying it.

Hi Leonie

Did you purchase the software from Corel.?

Even so, have you registered the software with Corel, doing so should give you access to Corel Support

If this helps identifying your file, I have only recently purchased PSP the download file was called PSPP_X4_PF.exe at 341 Mb.

After downloading the files burn them to a CD as a backup, along with details of the serial numbers or activation keys.

There are links to Corel at the top of these posts.

Yes I purchased it from Corel. I have all the reciept and other details saved.
The Corel website just gives me FAQs, connection to this site, "Send us an email" which I did, or an American phone number. I'm in Australia, I'm not phoning America.
I thought there would be some one-on-one suport on the internet. Companies much smaller than Corel have "Talk to" help on-line.
I guess I'm just spoiled.
I'll wait and hope my email gets answered before the weekend.

There is Australian support.
I've have phoned them. (Yes I'm also in Australia).

I haven't the number infront of me but you should be able to find it when you are asked to register your program.
I found them quite helpfull.
You can also email them for answers. This works but you need times as it can take a day or two for them to get back to you.

My PSP, although I haven't noticed it with x4, gets the 'jitters' every now and again. In my case it's when I'm trying to do to much with other programs open.

Hello LoneyBones,

There a number of factors why this happens. So let me provide you a number of steps that you can follow before calling the Corel Australian Support at +61 280144927.

- Delete the Corel folder inside the "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local" folder.
- Reset workspace. You can do that by pressing and holding down the SHIFT key then double-click on the PSP icon then when you received the message "DO YOU WAN TO RESTORE PAINTSHOP Pro TO ITS DEFAULT STATE?" just click OK.
- Reinstall the program
Uninstall the program from the Control Panel then reinstall using the disc or redownload a new copy.

Just make sure you that you take note of the steps that you have performed, so that you can tell the Corel Support and avoid repeating the steps.

Leonie.

If you buy a download version, then you click on the links in your confirmation mail and begin to download the offered files. I personally also would copy and paste all serial numbers into a Notepad file and save it under the same location.

After the download has finished, you insert a DVD/CD into your DVD drive and launch you burning program. Each OEM machine has one for free pre-installed.

You navigate to the folder where your downloaded files including your Notepad file with serial numbers are, and move them into that window that tells your burning software what you want to burn.

Then you click on Start to Burn.

Finally, you have got your backup. :D
