PSP 4 Crashes!

Post by rookie »

I installed the PSP 4 Trial and when the splash screen came up saying the program was starting, PSP 4 crashed.
I'm not sure why it is.

I have Windows XP Home SP3.

That's a bit like ringing up an auto mechanic and saying no more than "my car won't start". Apart from your OS, we don't know anything about your computer. Have you tried reinstalling? Or have you tried right clicking on the desktop icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator' (not that that should be necessary in normal cases...)

I believe your correct. What happen was that I originally had PSP X3 on my C drive which was a 40 gig and was running out of room. So I uninstalled PSP X3 to save some hd space to buy me time until my new hd came in.

I cloned my operating system to my new western digital 360 gig EIDE hdd. I decided to give PSP X4 a try and installed it. The install went fine, but when I click on the shortcut icon on the desktop and the program starts to load, it crashes. The splash screen comes up, I can click ok or debug, and either one shuts it down.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I get the same error. :?:

What about my right clicking the icon/Run As Administrator suggestion?

Can you tell me if the splash screen freezes at "initializing palettes"?
If it does, then you may want to follow the steps that was provided here.

Nope. That's not it. It crashes when it says starting on the splash screen. Any ideas anyone?

I'm at a loss with this too. My X4 crashes every time as it is Initializing Palettes on the splash screen. Haven't managed to even see the program yet!!
