Bluray 24p output? Where is it?

Post by Sph1nxster »

Why can you not output in Corel to 24p mts?

This would allow us to shoot in 24p. Render 24p and then add straight into Nero to make a 24p bluray.

it confuses me why the output settings included in the latest service pack are for 25p??? The only bluray player this will play in is most likely a playstation 3, but most players will not play 25p.

I have searched and searched all over the internet and there doesn't seem to be a logical explanation as to why Corel would miss this feature out.

Are their any third party codecs that would allow this to be possible?

Any help would be great!

Hello Sph1nxster,

Are you referring to 24 frames per seconds or something else?

If it is frames per seconds... BD video are either 29.97 fps or 59.94 fps or I'm the one with the wrong information.

You are the one with the wrong information :) .

The Blu-Ray standard includes 24p at 1920x1080, but not higher with progressive frames. 60p is supported only up to 1280x720 resolution.

You can read the specs here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray_Disc.

Abiel,

The frames per second you refer to our the NTSC interlaced frame rates.

We film progressive and wish to keep this. I know people talk about interlaced being better for fast moving images but i like the clarrity of progressive shots especially as we do wedding films.

We film currently 25p but we could easily film 24p if this issue was resolved. I'm not going to go elsewhere to work with the video as Corel is perfect, if only it did 24p!! I could render 25p and take over to Adobe but i'm not rendering twice as i feel this will reduce the quality plus adds on considerable time.

Hi Sph1nxster

Some options that may work?

After adding the 24 fps to the timeline.
Share Create Video File-Same as First Clip should render the project using your original files properties. That is at 24 fps
If Same as First Video Clip is available then the rest of the details below should also work.
View the details in the properties panel.
---------------------------------

Burn a disc………..
From a new project – empty timelines--Share Create Disc Bluray—Add Video files
Should burn the video using the original files without further rendering.
--------------------------------

Make Movie Templates Manager…………
Create a template using the Add function, browse for one of your 24fps files.
Do not edit the template simply close the manager.
The template being available in Share Create Video File.

Trevor,

Extremely Helpful! If Corel has the ability to clearly do this, then why isn't their a standalone option for it?
