X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
If I have no image open already, and I try "ctrl+o", no window pops up to open an image.
If I do have an image open an try it, a window does open..
Also one thing I dislike A LOT, is when you have an image size of lets say, 1,000 x 1,000 pixels. In the top right corner you place an image that is 500x500 pixels.
When you used to use ctrl + m, or just mirror from "Image", it would mirror it to the other side of the blank area in the top right. Now though it mirrors it on the side it is on. I loved it mirroring to the other side. It saved a lot of time.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
I was able to duplicate the Ctrl+O issue and reported it. You can report issues directly to Corel here https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PSPX4
The mirror image issue has plagued a number of people and a work around is discussed here http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 84#p230884

Hi Kathy, thank you a bunch for replying, and even more so with the useful links.Kathy_9 wrote:I was able to duplicate the Ctrl+O issue and reported it. You can report issues directly to Corel here https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PSPX4

I didn't realize about the bug report link, so i will definitely use that in the future if I come across more.
As for using scripts. I'm not one to use scripts, so i don't have any clue how to do what is suggested.
Don't suppose you could explain to help me do it? If you can, that would be fantastic, if not, then thanks anyway =)

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
I'm not much of a script person myself, but I'll try to explain. If you have an older version of PSP where the mirror function works the way you want, open that version to record your script.
First you will have to make sure your script toolbar is visible. You can do this by going to View --> Toolbars and selecting Script from the fly out menu.
Next open an image and click on the "start script recording" button on the Script toolbar. Then go to the Image Menu and select Mirror. Hit the save button on your Script Toolbar and give your script a name.
You can now use this script in X4 and it will have the behavior you are looking for.
Note: You can hover your cursor over the buttons on the script toolbar to view their functions (start script recording, pause, save, etc.).
Hope this helps.
Since you mentioned you don't use scripts, I guess I should add that to use the new script in X4, make sure your script toolbar is visible (described above) and then at the beginning of the toolbar use the drop down menu to find the script you just created and select it. Next click on the triangular button (looks like the standard play button on videos) and your script will run.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
Don't know if it'll help anyone or not but I made a small video on creating the script inside of X4 for those who either don't own an older version or don't want to re-install and older version just to get a script like this to work.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
Kathy, thanks a bunch. I originally did it your way and it worked wonders.
Though, Levi, I love you so much right now =D
That video actually taught me something I never knew you could do. Add stuff to the menu. That's going to be a HUGE help.
One question I have.. I have removed the shortkey's for the default flip horizontal/verticl (ctrl+m / ctrl+i) and wish to add them to the new ones. Is this possible?
MUCH MUCH thanks to both of you for helping.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
Yes it is possible. What you need to do is in the "Keyboard" tab of the customize menu. You need to select your bound scripts option, select the script you want to apply the shortcut key to.
In the shortcut dialog hit the keyboard shortcut Ctrl +m / Ctrl + i and tell it to assign that short-cut to that script.
Of course the shortcut cannot be applied to any other command before you assign it to the scripts but I believe you said you removed the shortcuts already.

@Stinky66,
The CTRL + O has already been reported and our developers are currently creating the fix.
You can visit http://product.corel.com/help/PhotoPro/ ... tcuts.html for ways on how to customize keyboard shortcuts.

I'm so stupid. I missed the "Bound scripts" bit before. I went to "Image" and also "all commands" in the keyboard tab, and they didn't appear. I didn't even think to look to see if there was a "bound scripts" options. haha. Thank you so much. I've done it and they work wonders =D
Thanks for the link. Greatly appreciated =)Abiel Corel NA wrote:@Stinky66,

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
If the purpose is to help others and the process is flawed I have to know why.
Can you tell me how you couldn't get it to work? The whole concept of "didn't work" is way too vague.
For example Python is case sensitive and spacing is very important. "false" is not the same as "False." Were there specific errors in the script output palette?
Glad something did work for you though.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
I would prefer it to be a bug, then Corel might be more inclined to return it to normal. Obviously being a bug has never forced them to fix it before but at least they'd be more inclined to do so. Sadly it isn't a bug. A bug is a problem that produces results that the developers did not expect or intend. This was a choice, a bad one, but a choice nonetheless.
I do hope they change their minds and give us both sets of commands instead of just the one.
And while I agree that you shouldn't have to do Mirror and Flip in a script, as well as a few other things I won't take the time to mention, the best part of having a scripting language like Python in PSP is so you can program things that aren't hard-coded into the system.

Re: X4 Ctrl+O Shortcut
Levi it came back as a script error when I tried to script it from X2
couldn't find the step in editing the script..
I tried Kathy's taking it from Jasc 9 that worked so left it at that..
Wonderful making a video of it very clever..Cheers
