I seem to have found another bug in PSPX4. In the edit tab if I open a file using the File open command or Recent Files from the menu, or the Open icon on the toolbar and then switch to the Adjust or Manage tab that file is closed (if I've made changes it asks me if I want to save it first) and the first picture showing in the Organizer pallete at the bottom is loaded automatically. If' however I load a file from the Organizer pallete, that file remains open when I switch to the Adjust or Manage tab and indeed back to the Edit tab.
This seems to me to be a glaring bug and one that I keep bumping up against as I have turned off the Organizer pallete in the Edit tab because it takes up too much screen space.
I hope that Corel don't think that this is a feature.

Re: PSPX4 File Open Bug
See I keep trying this but the image always closes on me when I switch between Manage, Adjust, and Edit. If the image you opened in the edit mode is still the one selected when moving between Manage and Adjust it will show up in Edit mode as you move from Left to Right but it still closes the image on me if I move from Right to left.
I opened an image, once the first one and once the second one, and edited them then switched to Manage mode and it asked me if I wanted to save. When I went back only the currently selected image in Manage mode was opened because that's how it's supposed to work. So is it not actually closing the image? Or does it simply appear not to close the image?
PSP's workflow is now very linear in a left to right fashion. You manage your groups and collections in Manage Mode, you then do any quick and easy adjustments in Adjust mode and if some need a more powerful touch you drag them into Edit mode and you're done. With the organizer available in all three modes now there is no need to be switching back to Manage mode to get more photos. And you don't need to leave the organizer open either. Of course if you do you can just hide it.
The closing of image going right to left was noticed in the beta and complained about but they decided to keep it the way it is. At least for now anyway we'll see what happens as time goes on. If enough people complain they'll probably consider switching back.

Then it's as I feared; Corel think that this is a feature.

Re: PSPX4 File Open Bug
The real issue here is Why?? Why do the open images in Edit mode have to be closed in order to switch to the Manage tab? There is no logical reason for this other than the programmers having an off day. Computers are by their very nature multi-tasking devices. How many other programs do you know of where it is mandatory to close all open files in one section before moving to another. It just does not make any sense.
I am a web designer and often have large numbers of image files open in Edit mode, in various stages of editing. Suppose I then need to open another one which happens to be in a folder of say 200 images. It makes sense to switch to the Manage tab in thumbnail mode because then I can see far more thumbnails at one time than with the thin strip across the bottom of the page in Edit mode. This cuts down on the time it takes me to find the image I require. Or at least it would if X4 did not insist I close all my other open files before doing this which would be completely impractical.
Please Corel fix this and quickly!
