This may or may not be an issue. If a crop size is set for a source image and "Crop As New Image" is clicked, the NEW cropped image will appear, however the Crop frame appears on the NEW image only scaled smaller. Is that normal? I'd not necessarily want to crop the NEW image a second time immediately afterward. This seems like strange, illogical behavior.

Re: Quirk in X3 - Crop operation
I would think this is normal. The crop frame is going to appear on the active image until you select another tool.

Re: Quirk in X3 - Crop operation
Thanks for the prompt reply. I'd say this is an outgrowth of my frustration with the X series of PSP. Being a long time PSP7 & PSP9 user, it hasn't been easy embrasing the NEW crop function. I still fumble with it and cuss at it. Can someone point to a good how-to for X3 cropping? There MUST be some advantage in its new features. BTW.. 99% of the time I crop to even multiples of 5 pixels, i.e. 620, 625, 630 or 635.

p.s. how does the X4 crop tool work? any different?

Re: Quirk in X3 - Crop operation
Thanks for the link. I have X3 installed both at the office and at home. My company has the license for the one at work. Depending on hardware and perhaps version (will do a comparison) the function: Move the rotation axis point of the crop rectangle doesn't work on either installation. At home I can grab the Axis Point and drag it, but it doesn't "stick".. instead in bounces back to the original center position. At the office I can drag the Axis point off to one side, but there's no way to "grab" it in order to rotate the image. Further, at the office there are a lot of Crop boarder artifacts that dont clear up until you drag the window LARGER than the image. I think that has to do with graphics drivers or hardware. So I went through the HELP page that you posted and it went ok.. until reaching the MRAPCR. Then I got discouraged again.
