Pro X2 Video studio DVD burning problem

Post by James Hersey »

Sir
I have tried to contact corel, but I find you give the best answers.
I have Pro X2 sotware. I have tried very unsuccsessfully to record onto a DVD disc from my video Share panel.
I can get onto the template dialogue box, when I press next to record on the Disc, it goes to back, and will not go on to the next dialogue box.
I have plenty of memory and Ram. I use Windows 7.
I can get onto Pro X2 ok and can dowload to create a video file, but I cannot create a disc.
Can you Help?
James

X2 came out before Windows 7 and is not fully compatible with it. The problem you describe was the main example of this incompatibility. The Next button is indeed there but it is offscreen. Corel issued a patch which corrected the problem, and it is still available on the corel-com website under Support. But in the meantime, you can move through the burning screens by using Alt+N (for Next).

Ihave tried for ages to get this working.

As I said, you go to the corel.com site and then select the Support button. Under that, you find the product (in your case VS X2) and you find the update page for that product. X2 has two patches -- the second is the one you are after, though I suggest you also apply the first if you have not already done so: http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=1300014

Ken
I am not sure if my previous message got to you.
Whist your remedy worked perfectly, I could not find a patch on Corel's web site.
Could you help me?

The link Ken provided for you takes you straight to the page you require - just click on it - towards the bottom of the page you will find :- Corel VideoStudio X2 Service Pack 2 - and across to the right a large "Download" button - click on that and away you go.

Just incase you still cannot locate the download button. Just click this link http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 8647710467 once you're there just click on the BEGIN DOWNLOAD link.

Ken
I have tried your suggestions, but I have no success.
When I try sevice pack 1, it downloads, but I am not sure it is my computer.
When I try to download Service Pack 2, It tells me to install previous patch, which I have done.
Your earlier remedy of using alt+N, woks ok. So it is not a problem

Hi James

Are you using the Ultimate version of X4?

Old X4 with Service Pack 1 has a serial number of 14.1.0.107
Click orange ring top right, then the cogwheels for About Video Studio

The Ultimate version as far as I know does not need Service Pack 1

If you are running Ultimate it seems there may be an issue installing the Win 7 Patch,
Although I don’t think it has been mentioned before.

Its good that you can navigate without the next button, but not sure if there were other icons not showing that the Win 7 patch fixed?

Dear Ken, Brian and Abiel
Thank you for your very useful advice.
I took Abiel's advice and clicked on sattelite, and hey presto it worked.
I have been trying for weeks to get this right.
Thank you all.
