VSPX4 Works but ends in Lock-Up

Post by kaymann »

Everthing works including the little clitch with chapters thing. I burn the DVD HD disc and a pop-up indicates there is an error but the disc actually burned perfectly... I try to create a HD MP4 and it sticks on 99% (literly forever) and I have to Cntl-Alt-Del to end VSPX4 but there in perfect condition is my MP4 file right where it is suposed to be... Yes I count my blessings that the end product is what I want but not exactly how I want VSPX4 to perfom.

Hi

What type of HD are you burning, a BluRay or AVCHD.

Does it happen every time?
Does it happen if creating a standard DVD.
If yes have you tried a different make of disc?

Did you convert the MP4 to these formats, Share Create Video File – BluRay/Avchd before burning the disc?
What version of Quicktime are you using? try updating to the latest version.
Saying that the convert process would have been complete by the time burning started?

Manually updating Direct X to the latest version has been known to cure some problems???

In three parts, download, run to extract files, run the DXSETUP.exe file.

Update X4 with any service pack available. As far as I know the Ultimate does not need the service pack.??

Well Trevor looks like we are both out of ideas - at least I can burn my discs.

Thank you for your time and consideration in trying to resolve the issues.

Hi

Not out of ideas, just a little busy at the moment.
You say in the first post that you are burning a HD disc, then you say you are making a Standard DVD

Which type of DVD are you creating?

If you are creating a Standard DVD then why are you converting the video to mp4?

A standard DVD uses MPEG 2 type files.

If you are creating a HD disc then you should convert to MTS?????

Knowing the properties of the original video file will help in advising you on what settings to use for your renders?
Right click a file in the timeline and select properties, what are they?

Ps where are you in this big wide world, maybe your asleep whilst i'm awake?

Sorry for the confusion - Whether I am burning a HD DVD or Standard DVD, VSPX4 will end in a very simple "Unspecified Error" Pop-up and then I click OK and VSPX4 is either gone or unfunctional... or if I am creating a MP4 file it will just freeze at 99%, and I will have to Ctrl Alt Del to get it shut down.

In other words anything on the share tab is likely to do it's job but crash VSPX4 on the handoff back.

Ok

To burn a Standard DVD first convert the project to Mpeg2

Share Create Video File DVD Video – 16:9 (providing the duration is under 60 minutes)
This will create a new compliant Mpeg2 file suitable for burning a standard DVD.

Start a new project—nothing in the timelines, Share Create Disc-DVD --Add video file.
Create the menu. Please use a Thumbnail template.
Burning a DVD Folder will save on discs, the Video TS folders can be played on the pc to check quality.

After hitting “Burn” the process should start with Convert Menu, if you see Convert Title then the video files are being converted, not required as you added a compliant video file.
Some settings or files are incorrect.

Does that process complete without problems.?
