slide show picture size

hi guys, i'm total new in this video thing... i've just recently bought a vs9.
here is my problem:
i'm trying to create some slideshows from the photos that i've taken,
when i burned them into VCD format, the quality that i'm getting is not good. it's so different from what i see before i burned them to vcd. then i get to know that VCD format has low resolution, so i tried to burn them into DVD format. the output that i get was a "short and fat" me, all my photos was stretched. what did i do wrong? do i need to change my photo size? kindly help...

VCD resolution is very low. You would have to resize the images to fit the resolution of the project you are preparing in order to have a good picture on playback. If you have a high resolution picture on a low resolution video, the images get distorted.
