When VS X4 starts there is a small screen and usually shows info such as video etc.
When it starts now there is a Red Cross showing and when I put the cursor over the cross there is a message "Please connect to the internet to see this content".
I am connected to the internet, I disabled the firewall and virus checker but still the same.
Are there any settings I am missing?
I would appreciate some advise.

Hi Kevsim
I don’t think you are missing anything.
Are you using the Trial version.?
When I start Video Studio X4 I see a red/orange splash screen showing the programs name, a small grey bar scrolls at the bottom, then the screen goes black, as though the monitor has failed, (think Vista turns white) but no other icons and certainly no internet remarks or red cross. Then the program opens, very slow to load but you just get used to it.
If you are still concerned can you provide a screen shot?
I would simply ignore it.
If you wish to check for updates click the ring icon top right.

Re: Opening Screen Shows Not Connected To Internet
I am wondering if it is, rather, the Corel Guide screen and not the splash screen. The Corel Guide screen opens automatically when the program (finally) opens, but there is of course a little box down in the bottom left of that screen which can stop the automatic appearance.
If it is this screen, then I wonder if kevsim gets the Guide screen if he clicks the ring icon...?

Re: Opening Screen Shows Not Connected To Internet
Thanks for the replies.
The screen I am talking about is the guide screen, it opens when the programme loads (box on LH side not ticked).
It used to connect to the web and show information, now it states not connected.
Something has stopped it from connecting.

Re: Opening Screen Shows Not Connected To Internet
Are you getting the same error message when accessing the Corel Guide from the upper-right corner of your VS X4 screen? It's the orange circle icon that has a white arrow pointing down.
Also have you recently installed a new anti-virus or firewall software? Those are the only program that can block VS X4 from accessing the internet, unless of course you updated or changed your network adapter.
