This can be a codec and directX issue. Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.
RealPlayer: http://www.real.com/
DivX: http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec-pack
XviD: http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.3.2.zip

Re: Missing video in edit mode on VS X2
Thanks.
In the meantime I loaded the free trial of VS X4 and video works correctly
Then loaded all your suggested codecs but no change in X2.
X2 worked fine several months ago so???
Thanks again.

Hi
When you re-installed did you do a Clean Install.
Not all files are removed when doing uninstall, some have to be removed manually.
View Corel site for details of manual uninstall.
In the meantime try this……..
Go to :-
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\12.0
Rename the folder 12.0 to “12.0 copy”
Opening VS will recreate the original folder returning the UI to its default.
May not cure the problem, but worth doing, just in case?

Re: Missing video in edit mode on VS X2
Sometimes, Windows updates cause conflicts with programs like Video Studio. This could also be the opportunity for you to upgrade the build of your Direct X. You can get the latest build at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... LSUS007776
DirectX must be updated manually, it is not part of the customary windows update process. Download it, then create a folder on your system to extract the files into, because it will extract around 200 files, and I sure wouldn't want them running loose. Once extracted, locate inside the folder the DXSETUP.exe file and run it. Once it has finished installing you can delete the folder containing all the extracted files. Note that the version of your DirectX will still be 9.0c but the build number will have changed.

Thanks All. It's working again!! I think the problem was in Quicktime. Latest reload seemed to make it work.

Re: Missing video in edit mode on VS X2
Hello
Looking for help again.
Just did a major project in X2 last night. All went well.
This morning, program and file opened correctly but I'm back to same - when editing , no video in project view good video in clip view
I have downloaded and installed again everything suggested but can't get it back.
Any further thoughts, please.
