Burning my Project to Blue Ray etc

Post by yertizagain »

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your help in the past. I am now getting to grips with the Prox4 'Beast',
but am still finding it difficult to 'Burn' to Blu Ray disc.
1. After 'Clicking' on 'Create Video File', what do I select?
2. Can I go directly to 'Create Disc' or do I always have to create a video file?
3. When I have saved my 'Project', can I Burn it to either HD, Blue-Ray, etc?
I have recently had a Blue-Ray Drive/Burner fitted to the Dell Computer.
As always, thank you for your Help.

Create a Blu Ray file and burn with Imgburn.

To an extent, the answer may also depend on what format video you have in your project, but you haven't told us that. If it's AVCHD, then it is already Blu-Ray compliant -- though VS is now behind the times in having maximum settings for AVCHD which are lower than the international standard. So for that reason, I would endorse pepegota's suggestion and create a Blu-Ray file. In doing so, however, I would use the mpeg-2 option as it uses a considerably higher bitrate than that VS uses for AVCHD...

You could also burn directly to a Blu-Ray disc, which I have done in the past using VS X4. With X2, I used to burn AVCHD hybrid discs (with a Blu-Ray structure) directly from a project, and in fact used to recommend that people jump the stage of first creating a new video clip...

If you want to create a bluray compliant video file, then you can go to CREATE VIDEO FILE > BLURAY

2. Can I go directly to 'Create Disc' or do I always have to create a video file?

Just like what Ken said you can directly go to CREATE DISC > BLURAY

3. When I have saved my 'Project', can I Burn it to either HD, Blue-Ray, etc?

Having answered the first two question.. I think you already know the answer for this one.
