PSP X4 Installation Problem

Post by ChrissyP »

Hi everyone

Hope you can help :D

I have a new boxed version of PSP X4. I can't install it! Set up goes through the process, then spends ages on a message about Direct X, then I get an error message saying product not installed as "device is not ready". Any ideas?

BTW, I'm trying to install on a notebook - system i.e. RAM/memory etc. more than meets requirements of PSP X4, therefore as it's a notebook I'm using an external CD drive. Op system is Win 7 Home Premium and is up-to-date via Windows Updates. I've easily put MS Office etc. onto notebook via the same external CD drive the only thing that won't load is PSP X4.

PS, Coral support haven't been helpful, they suggested Direct X needed updating, did that and still can't install PSP X4.

Thanks in anticipation.

You may want to try and save the content of the installer disc on a folder on your hard drive. From there remove the external CD/DVD Drive and restart the computer. Once the laptop has be restarted. open the folder where you copied the installer files and run the AUTORUN Application or the SETUP APPLICATION.

Thanks for that suggestion. I've already tried that and the same problem happens... I was able to download the trial version of the software and that installed OK. Trouble is that will run out after 30 days!

Try inputting your serial number and activating. That "should" convert the trial version to one that is licensed.

Thanks for your suggestion, I've already tried that but when it goes through the online activation process it says "the serial number doesn't match the download" (or words to that effect). Can't think of a way around this at the moment - have been trying everything I can think of. Very annoying as I bought the software specifically for the notebook as I have an earlier version on my PC (download copy not CD) and that wouldn't go on either so presumed I'd "used up" the number of times you can install and decided to buy a boxed version!
