VideoStudio 9 keeps crashing/hanging my PC

Hi

I've got a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz pc running Windows 2000's latest Service Pack (4?).

I'm in the middle of editing a project that has clips and pictures and transitions and at random points (whether i'm adding a title or adding a transition) VideoStudio just freezes in two different ways:
1. Screen freezes - mouse freezes. Typing in key board does nothing. Ctrl-Alt-Delete does nothing.
2. Screen goes black as if it's powered off

In both instances i've had to restart my pc.

It is rather annoying. Most times the recovering the last file being worked off restores the project but i've lost stuff i'd been doing. I'm currently saving my work after every change. It looks like a great app and a huge improvement on previous versions.

Does anyone know why or how i can get around this issue?
