VS not recognize full length of video

Post by Colleen »

I have a video clip from you tube that when I load it into VS it only recognizes 2:20 minutes vs. 2:50 minutes that shows in windows media player. Why doesn't it recognize the full length?

There's probably some slight corruption in the audio/video file. (Player software is often more tolerant than editing software.)

Re-capturing might help. Or, try capturing in a different format and/or try a different catpure tool. (The less-compressed formats are generally eaiser to work with... i.e. MPEG-2 tends to be less trouble than MPEG-4 or the other "more advanced" formats, and DV is almost always trouble-free.)
