When mixing HD 1080 video with digital photos it looks like I have to manually crop to 1920 x 1080 or at least that ratio to stop from having black bars on either side of the project? I am new to VS 4 and HD in general. Other then allowing VS 4 to "stretch" an image is there an easier then crop each image?
I am using a Canon 550D for both video and pictures.

Re: Photo Size
Here's one way:
1. Select a photo clip on the timeline, then click the Attributes tab up over in the options panel.
2. Select the "Distort" option.
3. Right-click on the preview window and select "stretch to fit" from the pop-up menu, and then right-click again and select "keep aspect ratio."
4. Right-click on the photo clip on the timeline and select "Copy Attributes" from the pop-up menu.
5. Select all the other photos on the timeline, then right-click on one of them and select "Paste Attributes" from the pop-up menu.

Re: Photo Size
Hi
Just to add…..
Make sure all images are landscape types, if you have a portrait image then it will be distorted by a lot.
When you select the distort option the preview screen shows a white rectangle, this indicates the Safe Area.
Some detail outside this box may not be seen on the TV due to Overscan, so the black borders will also be reduced?
Not normally a problem with a video clip but images we tend to crop quite tightly.
