How To Save Last File Folder View (X4)?

How do I get X4 to open with the same folder tree view I closed with? Like the first picture below. It always opens like the second photo, forcing me to drill down on the folder where I store most of my photos.

I already have "keep last view" checked in preferences. This was discussed in the link below for X3, but doesn't work with X4.

I'm not sure what the solution is but I can tell you that mine opens to the last used folder each and every time. I don't use the Manage mode and my PSP X4 is set to open to Edit mode automatically, but I did do some experimenting by going to Manage, selecting a folder and closing the application. I did this several times and chose a different folder each time with the same results - it always opened to the last used folder.

I seem to remember a similar discussion here but I don't recall if it was with X3 or X4. I do remember it happened to some but not others.

You could try resetting your workspace to see if that makes a difference. If you've customized your workspace, I'd recommend saving it first. To reset the workspace, close the program and restart it by holding down the shift key while double clicking the desktop icon. When it asks if you want to revert to factory defaults, click OK.

Bizarre. I've uninstalled X4 and reinstalled. Didn't fix. It just refuses to open up to anything but the second photo in my original post. The first thing I checked after reinstalling was to make sure that "keep last view" was checked. I've got navigation enabled in all three views (manage/adjust/edit).

Am I really the only person who has this problem?

Update edit: For now, the work-around is to use the "collections" navigation view. I eliminated all the default collections (my pictures, my videos, etc) and added only the photo folder where I keep all photos. Now X4 opens up straight to that folder. I can live with this.
