Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
Well guys I have just installed X4 on my laptop..
So it has nothing to do with screensize
as the laptop is 15.6" my big computer is 23"
and it is still the same..
must be something wrong with my version..
Now what do I do..
Cheers

By screen-size I don't think either Kathy or I was referring to physical screen size. More like the screen resolution. But it was just a guess.

Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
It has to be a Corel problem..not FU..
because why does it work perfectly in X3 with patch 2
then after 3 and 4 it doesn't.
Someone from Corel support told a friend if she wanted FU
to work in X3 stop at patch 2 and don't install the other patches..
She has FU working in X3 that goes to show it is a Corel problem.
Cheers

Yes Filly I saw that post. Again, screen size and screen resolution are different. I have a 15.6" laptop with a screen resolution of 1366x768 and when I hook that up to my 32" screen the resolution actually goes down a bit but I can bump it back up if I want to. A 23" screen can have the same resolution as a 15" screen. They may not be the same but it is possible. But why it's so off for you, I don't know. Kind of need more information to go off of than what I have now.
In mine I do notice the numbers get very close to the edge when they drop down to two digits but they never go outside the viewing area.
Also there is only one version available at the moment so I don't think it's your version unless you only have the trial installed. There have been theories that there might be something slightly off about the trial version.
As for FU it is a Corel problem, technically, since Corel made changes to its plugin system in X3 and kept most of those changes on into X4. But since other plugins can utilize regular raster layers it means there is something that the developers of FU can do to make it compatible with the new setup for PSP's plugin system upgrades if they were so inclined. Either side can make a fix it all depends on which one, if any of them, will do it first. Since it's been reported to Corel all that is left is to wait.

Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
Hi all, just wanted to add my two cents.
I think it's a DPI issue...although it can also be a screen resolution issue. I have a 17" HP Envy and my resolution is 1920 x 1080. This was a higher resolution than my last notebook. I do like the higher resolution but found that some things were too small. I changed my DPI setting in Windows 7 from the standard 100% which is 96 pixels per inch to 125% which is 120 pixels per inch. For the most part it doesn't create any problems....but sometimes it can cause an issue.

Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
Thanks Lisa for your input it is much appreciated..
it helps us all
I have played around with the DPI settings..
I have mine set at 135% as I found most things too small at 100%
by setting it at 100% you can just see the digits as they get lower..
It is the big wide screen seems to be the problem
looks like Corel hasn't allowed for that..
Looking back at previous paintshop versions..
the blend mode is set below the opacity the % gap is wider
but with X4 they have them beside each other..
I would like to know it others with wide bigger screens have the same problem..
I don't know how may testers Corel has but wish they would consult a few more...
before they release a new version..
There are a lot of pspers that have used versions as far back as Jasc 7 as I have..
and have learnt a lot over the years..Cheers

No, I wasn't paying attention or I would have seen you are using a 23" monitor. I thought maybe you were using an older/smaller monitor and things were squished. If anything, you would have even more room to accommodate the display. What's really bizarre is that on the screen shot you posted where the transparency is 24, the 4 isn't cut off - it's there, but it's on top of the granite background instead of inside the transparency box.Filly wrote:Would it be my screen size looking through all of yours
Kathy you have a 20"..mine is 23''
I will try it on my laptop..Cheers
I even tried messing with my screen resolution to see if I could duplicate what you're seeing but no luck.

Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
Hi Kathy it is odd as I installed it on my laptop which is 15.6"
the same thing happened after 80% the 2nd number disappeared..
I had a look at my X3 the same thing happened but because the graphite workspace
was a bit lighter you could see the number over the space..
so the number may be there in X4 but because it is so black you can't see it..
hopeless..looks like I shall have to put up with it..
but buyers beware if you have bigger wider screens than my 23".you may never see it at all!!!!!!
I much prefer my old 20" square one.. Cheers

Re: help from levi please or an X4 expert..
Filly, have you tried undocking your Layer palette to see if that makes a difference? You might also try setting the Layer palette to show the Right Pane so that each layer has its own opacity settings in view. In PSPX2, you turn on the Right Pane by going to General Program Preferences then choosing Palettes. There's a check box for Right Pane. I don't know if that will make any difference but it couldn't hurt to try it.
Based on personal experience with the various versions of PSP over the years, I think that video cards can cause issues like this. I've had some sort of video glitch in nearly every version of PSP that I can only assume is caused by my video card. Updating the drivers never helps either. For example, in PSP7 and PSP8, I'm missing a drop-down arrow in the Browser for choosing which folder to move or copy files to. I have to manually browse for the one that I want every time (the tree is collapsed again every time I open that dialog) or save my most used folders as Favorites. On my old computer, with Win98, that drop-down arrow was where it should be but it was gone when I installed PSP7 and PSP8 on WinXP on my new computer.
Here is what the dialog box should look like:

And this is what I actually get:
