Howie - did you try re-downloading? It could be that you got a bad/corrupt download that was missing files.

I have just come in on this...
I uninstalled the trial version of X4 then went and bought it through the download option
Had no problems with the install..
I have SE and Comodo didn't have to turn any of them off..
When I uninstalled it I used CCleaner also deleted all the X4 folders
in My Documents in My PSP files from memory X4 was still under Corel
I deleted it as well then used CCleaner again..
Cheers

I'm out of ideas and I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. X4 installed like a dream for me but X3 was an outright nightmare. I tried everything with Corel's first tier installation support and had no luck. Fortunately for me, they hooked me up with a product specialist in Canada who was extremely helpful and wouldn't give up. He ended up sending me a link to their FTP server to download a CD image of the program and that worked.

NIGHTMARE IS OVER!!! :-)

I ran Revo uninstaller after running the cleanup-tool, and there were several traces left in the registry. After cleaning it installed flawlessly.

Thanks to all for Your help.
