Vischeck plugin crashes PSP X4?

Vischeck is a color changing tool that simulates various forms of color deficiency. I have used this plugin in previous versions of PSP, but invoking it in X4 causes a crash to desktop (Win7 64 bit). Can someone else check to see if it works on their system?

Which one are we supposed to download -- the one for Photoshop of the J version???

I'd assume the Photoshop version, the J version is for Java Virtual Machine. The readme for the photoshop one claims to work on Jasc PSP.

Yes, the photoshop version for windows (Vischeck ps1.01w).

I downloaded and extracted the folder to the plug-ins sub-directory of X4, alongside KPT and Nik. And it shows up under Effects > Plug-ins in X4. But when applied to a photo, it immediately -- and consistently -- causes PSP to crash.

Looking at the documentation, though, I am not particularly surprised. The "current" Vischeck version dates from 2001 -- which would barely make it compatible with Windows XP, let alone Windows 7...

Thanks Ken. At least I know it's not my system.

I found this to be a very useful plugin to understand how color deficient people see (like my son). GIMP has this built in to the software, so I can do it from there, but it was nice to have it in PSP where I do all my photo work. Do anyone know of any other plugins that can do the same?

Photo freebies Color Blind 2 works fine with X4.

Thanks for the link to Photofreebies. The Colorblind plugin works for me too. It's not nearly as sophisticated as Vischeck because it only simulates one type of color deficiency, but it's better than nothing.
