HD video quality is any but HD after buring to a DVD. HELP!

I burned a 2 gb HD 16:9 video file to a dvd with DVD MovieFactory 2. I viewed it after it was done and the image quality was heavily degrated. Any help on maintaining the quality from the editing board to the burning process would be helpful.

Current DVD burning technology only support 720x480. You won't be able to burn HD DVDs until the HD-DVD or Blue Ray burners become avaliable.
