adorage with VS X4
Does anyone recall the installation procedure for Adorage Magic effects packages for Video Studio. I'm in the process of reinstalling all my software on a computer that crashed. I have 2 Disks with Registration codes. The first disk is the "all plugins collection" ( which I thought was required…) and the second disk is Effect Package Volume 2 - particle and lights. I installed the" all plugins colection" disk first, and then I attempted to install the Effect Package Vol 2 -- during that set up I came to a page with that listed several options for you to choose a video editing package such as Video Studio, Pinnacle etc. Unfortunately, all the options were greyed out and the only box checked was the "stand alone" version and you couldn't deselect that as it was all greyed out too. I cancelled the installation and figured I should ask before going further... Did I do something wrong? Should I have just installed the Effect Package? Should I just continue with the installation? I really don't remember how the effect got into my VS Software before this ( it was so long ago!) but it did work seamlessly on my other computer and I know others on this forum use it as well. Normally I look for a vfx file to copy into the vfx folder, but I don't recall if that was the case w Adorage.... I feel like my memory needs to be jogged a bit here. Please let me know the best procedure if you recall. many thanks.

Re: adorage with VS X4
ok... well in case anyone is interested... I found the solution that I was looking for and found Adorage/Prodad support to be most helpful and accomodating.
I had all the right disks and was doing everything correct. YOu do need to install the "all plugins collection" first as this installs the stand-alone module for all their effects, then you install the specific effects package. The piece that I was missing was that there is a patch on their website for effects packages 10 and prior when using them with VS Pro X4. ( not an issue with earlier versions prior to pro x4)
the link for this patch is http://www.prodad.de/de/adorage-service-pack.html and you need to download the link under Old Service 2.5.46 [16 Oct 2008]
the effects package loaded perfectly. I have an adorage icon in the "all" transitions window. you add that to the time line, click on it, and then click on customize and it takes you out to the stand alone window to create your effect. works the same way that canopus, or new blue and other 3rd party effect packages work.
supposed they have added a lot of effect packages since my initial purchase ( particles and lights - volume 2 ) so i am excited to check them out.
hope this will be helpful to someone!

Re: adorage with VS X4
Thanks for that Ilene. Gives me renewed interest in installing my own proDad Adorage package in X4... I had read your original post above but could not remember how I had installed it last (which was with X2, not X3) so could not reply. And I did not even know if it *would* install in X4. Unfortunately, I have been rather busy over the past week, so I did not have time to try. But now I do, plus your positive news...
