PSP X3 update

For your information, Corel just issued a sizable update of PSP X3. It seems to include a new button named Corel Guide(?). Run Help/Check For Updates.

What update are you referring? The latest PSP X3 update that was issued was the Service Pack 5: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 2296092210, the update is approx. 66 MB in size.

Maats -- are you sure it was for X3 and not X4, since Corel just updated the Help (i.e. Corel Guide) for X4 -- 119 MB.

I own PSP X3. I have "automatic update" set. Yesterday I received a big automatic update. I don't know what it did. I only noticed that there was a new orange button Corel Guide, which I hadn't noticed before. My version of PSP X3 is 13.2.1.32.

Oddly enough, since writing the above, I had to turn on the computer on which I have PSP X3 to check out something else. But when I opened X3, I got an update message, and when I accepted it, it downloaded a file (too quickly to see what it might be called). I already had X3 updated with all SPs up to and including SP5. So it was up to date. But the new update, after downloading, when it tried to install, came up with the message saying 'No need for update' or something along those lines. So heaven know what is going on. I also got the identical message with a very similar update designated for the Help system in X4 and got the identical message. With X4, I have the boxed edition of X4 Ultimate, so I have been assuming I didn't need to update the help files as I could access them from the moment I installed X4. But I cannot ever remember accessing X3's help system, so cannot say if it was there in the first place or needed updating.

Anyway, if you click on that orange Corel Guide button, then you can download a free plugin set from Corel. I don't know what it is.

It must have been the Service Pack 5 I got yesterday, then.

I don't see what Ken Berry is seeing. (Maybe there's a message crossover?!?)

Just to be clear, I have X4 on one computer, and X3 on another. I don't have the two versions on either computer. So no chance of a message crossover. But I too would be interested if anyone else had my experience of the 'update not needed' message.

No -- it was not that manual search response. I just opened X3 to check something else, and got the automatic 'Patch is available' message. I actually downloaded it and it started the installation process, unpacking the downloaded files. But then it returned the 'update not required' message. Exactly the same as occurred with a help update for X4 on the other computer.
