Hi
I have a video, recorded from a TV broadcast, that has a station logo on the screen.
I understand EditStudio Plus has a way of "removing" this. Does Video Studio have a similar
function (other than just super-imposing a black box over the logo)?
thanks

Re: reove logos from videos?
Hi
Welcome to the forums
As far as I know there is no automatic way of removing logos.
The only option being to cover the logo, a mask or colour clip, You could then add your own text.
Suppose it depends on how long the logo runs for.
Picture in Picture affects could add images or video over the logo
There is the option to zoom in to the video, crop the video, but only affective if the logo is near the edge?
I can only suggest you download the trial version

Re: reove logos from videos?
I have a NewBlue filter which is for that purpose. But it is not cheap, and the result still looks like what you see on a TV channel when they have used their pretty expensive software and equipment to remove the logo of the original channel carrying that story. It just looks like an ugly blur, and personally I would be more inclined to simply leave the logo there than draw attention to an ugly blur which just underlines the probable inference that the video came from a different source and you might be trying to hide it...

Re: reove logos from videos?
How large is the station ID button? Is it located in the far lower corner or somewhere higher where covering it will seriously affect the video? Is the action in the video enough to keep the viewers eyes focused away from the station ID logo?
If the logo/button is say in the lower rightmost corner of the frame, and there's enough action so the viewer will ignore that area. you could try using what Ken described. However that would still leave a rank-amateur appearance. How about putting a lower-third graphic over it? I don't know how long this segment is, or what the content is. Look at most of your news casts, the entire thing has not only lower-thirds but upper-thirds as well. Again without knowing the content of the video, I'm pulling at strings, trying to come up with some "out of the box" thinking. You could give the appearance of a remote broadcast.
How about adding a frame to the video clip. VS does have some "canned" frames to overlay your video. Also take a look at some of the Video Masks. There's one that is a gradient, that masks the top and bottom. I think it provides a neat effect for the right type of mood.
Is this just a recording of a television show, a movie, or documentary? Look at those, and see what the producer is trying to portray. Then also what are you wanting to show? You can either just copy the thing or add your own flavor to it. You're the producer, director, editor, so it's what you want the final outcome, what you want your viewers to feel and see. It takes playing around, experimenting with a lot of different tools, to find something that works for you.
