PSPx3 pretending to save?

Post by Auser »

Anybody else have this problem with PSPX3 and can something be done about it:

I select "save as" pick a place, and the program appears to save the file, with the progress bar at the bottom - but it doesn't! It doesn't save a file, not always. If i then select save as again, it save the file.

This is very annoying, sometimes i forget to check and lose a file because of that.
The world would be easier if people were easier.

no you are not the only one with problems saving.

mine has the same problems but mine is worse as it wont save ATALL i get a white screen and then the program crashes.

everything works up to the point i want to save. i suspect it is a missing driver/s, and wonder if someone here can help find a fix, help with how to solve this.

my paintshop pro 3 is something i want to enjoy, but as it stands it is a dead investment.

it is a shame that we are not able to use it, and are both very frustrated without a save function!

alittle help here with this would be fantastic!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this problem. Have you tried download all 5 updates for PSP X3? Since all updates have addressed all issues of PSP X3.

You can actually download all updates of PSP X3 at http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 9872271743

I haven't had a save problem in over a year of using X3. There's not a lot of issues reported here on X3 saving either.

There are 5 patches for X3. The 2nd should include the first (people here have said it does and no one has said it doesn't), but all the rest are individual patches and should be installed in order. If you didn't install the patches in order you may have issues. Patch #3 creates as many problems as it fixes, just different, and there's a thread here by an adventurous user who created his own patch to fix most issues with X3.

In short, yeah pretty much all support for X3 has been made. If you want more, there's X4. This is pretty standard with software and by no means Corel specific to support a program until the next version comes out, but patch #5 did release after X4 was announced.

If you've installed all patches and still have issues you can try resetting the workspace (save your current workspace first in case you want it back), and if that doesn't work you can try reinstalling the whole program going through the uninstall procedure outlined in a post in this forum (start at the last comment and work your way forward until you find the latest post describing everything as there's more than one and a tool has been diverted..... etc....) then install each and every patch one at a time manually.
Regards, Dan

@jaxman43

I'm sorry I should have not use the phrase "Since all updates have addressed all issues of PSP X3." the more appropriate answer would be JStanley's line "this should fix most of the problems with X3."

But the program checks for updates, wouldn't it have told me if i needed to download something?

Yeah, but I'm hardly likely to buy X4 when X3 has bugs which were never fixed, right? (Still can't read most svg files for instance)
