Encountered an improper argument

Usually I only use Edit Mode in X4.
Recently I have been exploring Manage Mode and now decided to try Adjust Mode.
I have found that everytime I leave Adjust Mode to go to Edit Mode or Manage Mode
I get an error "Encountered an improper argument".

Does anyone else get this?

Not as of yet, all it does is ask me if I want to save my changes. Though unlike X3 doesn't remember the changes when changing over to Edit Mode if I say don't save. Which is both disappointing and helpful depending on if you use Adjust mode to do quick things before going to edit mode or if you go to edit mode because Adjust mode just doesn't cut it.

FWIW, it doesn't happen with me either. And like Levi, I just get a message to Save when I leave Adjust.

I don't use Manage or Adjust (wish they would go away, but that's beside the point) but I did try to replicate the error you received. It just asked me if I wanted to save. It also closed the image that I previously had open in Edit - hate when that happens. When I want to close an image, I'll do it. . . I don't need the program thinking for me, especially when I don't agree with it's decision.

Funny... The image I have open in edit remains open when I move from Edit to Adjust or Manage and back again... Just tried it again, and it stays open.

In X4? Did you make adjustments to the image before switching? Is it the first image in the organizer palette?

No, it was an image way down the organizer list. And yes, I made adjustments to it and saved them before switching. Just tried again and it works the same. It also works the same when I don't make any adjustments.

Edit: And when I make changes but don't save them, the image still remains open when I switch, though of course in its original form.

That doesn't surprise me Ken. I've seen others complain of issues that I don't encounter. Maybe that's why Corel can't find a fix.

And I suppose this also fuels speculation about whether there is a difference between the boxed Ultimate edition (which I have) and the download/TBYB version. Even though the build number remains the same at 14.0.0.332.

Thanks (but no thanks) guys

All I have to do is:
open X4 (in Edit Mode) with no Image,
click on Adjust Mode (which brings up a JPEG Image)
and then click on Edit Mode again.
This causes the error: "Encountered an improper argument"

If no-one can reproduce this, I might just encountered an improper argument with Corel

I have the same version number but mine is a download; not boxed CD version. We were "told" they were the same but who knows??

I do know that software behaves differently on different systems. I've heard in a number of security forums that a certain anti-virus really slows someone's system to a crawl and others claim that it has a very small footprint and runs just fine. With different processors, amount of RAM, video cards and versions of the operating system just about anything could happen.

Fortunately I'm not experiencing any major issues with X4 but I do wish they'd get their crayons out and start coloring those icons.

To whom are you talking? What Image?

btw is your version the Boxed one?

Just wanted to rule out the images information as a factor. And no my is not the boxed version it's the one we got for beta.
