Hi, Corel are aware of the problem now. They did not have any further suggestions about how to get by using X3. They said it will be given to the Research and Development team and a patch will be made for X4. So I guess the only thing to do is to uninstall X3 and then reinstall without the sp2 patch.

Hi Rae

Thanks for the feed back.

We use a program quite successfully, then Corel bring out a patch, probably to fix something we hadn’t noticed. So why do we install, (Don’t fix it till its broken comes to mind)

With X3 the program continues to prompt you to install patched that are available, can get a little annoying. I think there are ways to stop the pop-up window, something related to messages?

For other programs we find out via the grapevine, then its up to us to download and install.

By the way by not installing the patch you will not get the link to download DVD MF7SE.
I assume you have this on your pc as a separate file.exe?

Hi Trevor, What is DVD MF7SE. Is that the DVD burner???? I am unsure if I have this installed or not. I am unhappy to think that I am unable to put my movies into X3 as the program is not doing what it is supposed to. If I have to buy a later version to be able to do this then I think we should receive a reasonable discount! I will most likely uninstall and reinstall without the patch. What exactly was the patch supposed to fix???????? Rae

Hi Rae

Corel Video Studio X3 was the first version NOT to have an integral burner module.
In all other versions including X4 you burned a disc by Share Create Disc, this opened a new window within Video Studio, the burner module.
X3 changed all that, for the worse, Corel provided “Corel DVD Factory Pro 2010” as its burner program, this opened as a separate program.
Unfortunately this program was totally rubbish giving many problems.
I have to say that some users seem to have mastered the program.

Corel in recognition of their mistake provided “Corel DVD Movie Factory 7SE” as a free download.

It is available accessed from the program updates only after installing the Service Pack, which seems to cause this audio problem.
If you own the full version “Corel DVD Movie Factory” then you do not need the download.
