SOME OF THE EDIT BUTTONS, TRIM & PEICE TOGETHER ARE LOCK

Well I downloaded the trial version to see if it would do what I need to edit some games that recorded to a DVD and want to edit host on the web. So I have played around with it and have been able to do some editing, BUT on the first screen where you have 3 options like trim….connect together and like advanced edit will not unlock so I can use them. Is this because it’s a trial version or what? I really can’t till if the software will really work for what I need if I can’t use theses options.
