- When moving from Manage to Edit error message

I know others are having this problem in PaintShop Pro X4 where jpg and tiff files may not display in the Manage Page or if they do when you move to Adjust or Edit you get the above error message.
It may be temporarily fixed by File-Preferences-Reset preferences and restarting the program as mentioned in another thread but I now find that another suggestion of holding down the shift key all the time when double clicking on the desktop icon to open the programme and waiting for a message to restore to factory default seems to work everytime.
The advantage is you can actually use the program but the disadvantage is you lose any customisation you may have done and you have to go through the start up menus every time.
