Re: Image Text
What do you mean by Image Text? Because I can think of many ways and they may or may not be what you are looking for.

You take an image and make text from it, and thank you for your response.LeviFiction wrote:What do you mean by Image Text? Because I can think of many ways and they may or may not be what you are looking for.

Re: Image Text
Okay so I will quickly cover three ways to do this.
First is to set the "Create As" drop down box in the tool options to "Selection." What this will do is as soon as you hit the "Apply" button it'll create a selection in the form of the text you just created. You can then invert the selection and hit "Delete" this will leave only the image in the form of the text that you created.
Another way, and far more preferable is to create the text as a vector. As a vector you can move it, edit it, stretch it out and make it look and position it where you want. Then go to the Selection menu, with the text selected, and do "From Vector Object" this will also create a selection in the form of the text you just made but you keep the text so you can change it later if you want.
From there you can add a Mask Layer to the image with "Show selection" option. This won't delete anything and you can position the image underneath the mask to show the parts of the image that you want to.
The last way is as Ken suggested. Placing the image as the fill inside the vector text. To do this open up the image as its own separate image. Then when you create text on another image go to the materials palette and select "Pattern" and from the dialog you can select any currently open image as a pattern for the vector text. What this will in essence do is fill the vector text with the image and you can position the text and do anything you want with it without having to worry about selections and mask layers and so on and so forth. But, and especially depending on the source image, this tends to be rather slow by comparison.
Each method has its strengths and its weaknesses. So try them out, experiment, decide what you like. But there are many many ways to achieve this effect.

Re: Image Text
I apologize if I've not made myself clear and I certainly thank you for your responses. I've enclosed you a link to some image text I made in Photoshop for a site I'm building. I would also like to do this in PSP. I made the text from the photo.

Re: Image Text
Yup that's what I just described.
Actually since you did that in Photoshop, unless it used some function PSP doesn't have it should be the exact same process.

Ooie, I didn't see your post before I made that last post. Must be having a blonde day.LeviFiction wrote:Yup that's what I just described.Actually since you did that in Photoshop, unless it used some function PSP doesn't have it should be the exact same process.
I'll start working with your suggestions and see if I can make it work for me. I've had my fill of the other company and their высокомерным и бесполезной поддержки so I'm doing more in PSP now.
I go back many years with PSP and Corel Draw and the newer versions are amazing me.
When I get the image text worked out in PSP I"ll put it up and let you critique it for me.
Cheers!, it's the weekend !!!
Re: Image Text
Ok, I did the word howdy in x3 pro with your instructions. Took me some time and still have more work to do to make it look better too. I used an image of a gold nugget.
I"ll practice on it when I have some more time this weekend.
