Context menu puzzle

Post by terrypin »

When I right click any entry in the Layers pane of PSP8 I get this odd box instead of the context menu:
Image

Anyone have any idea s to the likely cause and fix please?

P.S. Are the following Usenet newsgroups now closed?

Pleased to report that I sorted this shortly after my post. I'd forgotten that I had the same problem nearly 5 years ago and had discovered a solution.

In case anyone else ends up here...

View > Customize > Menu tab > Context menus > Layer Context Menu > Press Reset

I also found I had to do the same with Layer Vector Context Menu.

--------------------

I'd still like to know the status of those newsgroups please.

They are still alive but not kicking much. Very little activity as of late.

Thanks. So is this forum now the 'best' place to raise queries about PSP8 please?

I guess "best" is in the eye of the beholder, but there are a few of us on this board that still have PSP 8 installed. Ask what questions you want, and we'll try to help if we know the answers.

Although I have X2 installed, PSP8 is what I use 99% of the time. I'd be glad to help if I can.

Corel newsgroups, which are NOT mentioned on the Corel website (maybe they hope the newsgroups will just evaporate):

cnews.corel.com

corel.PaintShopPro8
corel.PaintShopPro9
corel.PaintShopProX
corel.PaintShopProPhotoX1
corel.PaintShopProPhotoX2
corel.PaintShopProPhotoX3
corel.PaintShopProX4

Is is most probably best to use the later groups as the earlier ones aren't visited very often.
