Hi
I want to do two things with overlay but I don't know how? I'm not sure if that's possible or not?
first I want to add an effect to overlay, well I can apply it but before it shows up a black screen appears, I added a color graphic and made it all transparent, now my windows appears right, but is there any other way?
is there any possibility to draw shapes on the clip? I mean like lines, rectangular and stuff? if no how can I take an image output from the project so I can draw the shapes I want in an image editing software and use it as another overlay?
VS pro X4 overlay stuff

Could you be a little more detailed on what you're trying to do? What effect are you adding that results in the black screen?
It's not possible to draw shapes in VS. You can add a color clip to the timeline, then resize it. Just what is it you are wanting to accomplish, something like a Picture-in-Picture (PiP), with a frame? Are you trying to use New Blue FX's PiP? Sorry without more clarity I can only make guesses.

One of the Tools that comes with X4 is Painting Creator. It can be found under Tools in the X4 menus. However, as you will quickly see, while it allows you to prepare drawings which can be overlaid over your video, it is is all done freehand i.e. there would be no absolutely straight lines or guaranteed straight squares or rectangles with precise corners.
