I really need some help on this.
I spent several hours putting together a compilation music video for my first time use in Corel VS Pro X4. When I was finally satisfied with what I'd created, I went to the tab to Share.
I selected the setting for YouTube, named the file and saved.
It started rendering, reached 21% and then nothing. The rendering box simply disappeared and ceased to do anymore.
I've tried 5 times since to render in different and varying formats, but each time it reaches 21% and then cops out, with the render box disappearing, despite the fact nothing has been touched.
This is driving me insane. My friend installed the program for me so I could try out hers before deciding to buy my own copy... but if this is what its going to be like, then I definitely won't be spending the money on it. What could be the problem??
VS Pro X4 gets to 21% rendering then fails?

Hi
welcome to the forums and thank you for filling in your PC details.
We need to know much more regarding the content of your project.
The type video files used, their properties and the type of audio used
For instance MP3 has been known to cause some problems.
There is a sticky post at the top of this forum named Please Read This Before Posting
Will give you some idea as to what we need to know.
The You Tube option within Video Studio is limited to 15 minutes, I think.
You may best to render the project using Share Create Video File choosing one of the templates.
If this completes ok then login to your YouTube account to upload.
However if the render fails at 21% then its probably something in the timeline at that point?

Re: VS Pro X4 gets to 21% rendering then fails?
Describe your problem:
Rendering fails at 21% with no error message or information. Just completely disappears.
Properties of your source files, including video, audio, image files (format, file size, where did you get it?):
All video, (.avi/.mpg/.3gp)
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:
All videos are on the hard drive of the computer and are pre-recorded videos stored as files.
Project Properties (important):
Not entirely sure what you mean? Making a compilation video out of several old video files, putting together a video of her and her horse as a gift.
Video is 4:14 long.
No audio (I initially had an .mp3 track as the audio, but when it didn't work and rendering was slow, I removed it to see if rendering could be sped up).
Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD):
MPEG saved for later playback on the hard drive.
Output Properties (cogwheel in lower left of burn screen):
not burning anything, so not sure if this applies to me?
PAL or NTSC:
Pal
Error Codes (if any):
None. The rendering box simply disappears.

Hi
can you give more details regarding the video files, right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they.?
You can copy and paste the window to an image editor, create a Jpeg and attach to your post.
What have you placed in timeline at 21%
When you say the video is 4.14 long I assume that is minutes?

Re: VS Pro X4 gets to 21% rendering then fails?
Yes, 4:14 is 4 minutes and 14 seconds.
I don't know how to tell what 21% into my video is. Otherwise I would have looked into that one already.
Honestly didn't think a program that costs so much money would be so reliant and dependent on perfectionism in everything before you even put it in the project in the first place...

Re: VS Pro X4 gets to 21% rendering then fails?
I just tried again, ensuring there was absolutely no sound in the video...
this time it reached 97% after almost an hour.... then the box disappeared, the video started playing in Corel so I wondered if perhaps it finished rendering while I wasn't looking.
Apparently not, because the video is nowhere to be found.

Hi Moondance
You are not giving us any information regarding your project or the clips you are using in your project
All we know is that the it fails at 21% and that it should run for 4 min 14 seconds. That’s 254 seconds in total.. 21% would be approx 52 seconds into your project.
So what’s in the timeline at 52 seconds
I asked earlier……….can you give more details regarding the video files, right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they.?
Now do the same for any audio clips……………..
Can you also say where you got the video file from, a download, from a camera, if so what type?
Ok
Your PC specification seems to indicate a single core processor, 1.25Gb of ram etc suggests an older pc.
I am no expert on understanding these figures.
But if you are working with HD video then you will have problems.
That’s why we need the video properties information

Re: VS Pro X4 gets to 21% rendering then fails?
Hi
I have just experienced the disappearing render files.
I created a test file to the properties below.
Then Share-Upload to Web-YouTube Mpeg4 HD
The render process reached about 95%
The window disappeared, so did the rendered file.
Normally a YouTube upload window would show, but I get nothing, the thing just disappears.
MPEG files
24 bits, 1440 x 1080, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(HDMV-NTSC), 16:9
H.264 Video
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 16000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2(L,C,R,SL,SR)
I have rendered to the YouTube using other types of video without problems.
It would be good if others can replicate this
With thanks?
Update
The file used is NTSC standards (29.97 fps) being rendered on a Pal Video Studio.
Rendering a similar Pal Video using 25fps completes OK?

Aside from the video files properties, you may also want to tell us where the video files came from the brand and model of camera that you used. There was a previous issue with VS X4 and that way it handle GoPro HD (.mp4) files.
You can visit http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... -mp4-files for more information about that issue.
