Hi,
a problem with recording narration has just started with my Pro X4. On playback the recording is not complete and the nearest description is that it is stuttering.
I have tried recording several different phrases in different parts of the video and using two different mics but each time get this stuttering.
Can any one suggest what I could do to fix the problem.
Thanks Mike

Re: Audio stutters after recording
I'm afraid I can't help with the VS audio problem. But an immediate work-around would be to record your voice-overs in another program and insert them into VS in the appropriate spots. A lot of us do that anyway, though not necessarily because of any problem with the VS capacity to do so itself. It's just that dedicated audio editing programs give so much more flexibility and filters etc. One such program is excellent and moreover, freeware: Audacity. A simple Google search should find it, though it will also be on the sourceforge. com website.
When using it, save your voiceovers as .wav files for insertion into VS -- though I think this is the Audacity default anyway.
But if you get stuttering audio with Audacity, then at least you will know it is not just VS but something more general on your computer/sound card...

Just adding to what Ken mention, you may also want to check if there are other program that uses your mic that are running while recording your narration and another test that you can try is to use the Windows recorder by going to START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > SOUND RECORDER and record a sample narration from there and see if the same thing happens.
