The mapping does need some work. For a cube or rectangle shaped object you can adjust the scale, size and rotation of the texture manually for the side. For some reason when you select the Side face, and then choose one of other mapping options, X-, X+ it does not affect all the sides. You did select only the Side Face, then change the Mapping from the default of I think Z- to X- or X+ ?

Yes I see what you're saying. I don't think there's anything that can be done about that. Like I stated in my previous post, the program's texture mapping could be better.
