Boris Graffiti help file missing screenshots

Post by MikeA »

I've started playing with Boris Graffiti. It certainly is an amazing package. Virtually any aspect of the text, containers, etc can be varied, and each component has its own time line. I have been trying to use the help file but my version is somehow damaged in that it won't pick up the screen shot images. Instead I get text and lots of blank space. I know the images are there because I have found them. Therefore, it is some kind of linkage problem. Perhaps this is not the place to post this issue, but perhaps also, someone has seen the problem and knows how to fix it.

I should add that, in common with much of VS, the help seems only to touch on the basics and a lot of the detail remains rather mysterious. it seems that the only way to figure things out is to experiment. I confess it has taken me more than a year to figure out some of the abstruse aspects of VS and there are parts I still don't know what they mean and what the implications are of tinkering with them (mainly project and general preferences).

I don't think it's just you. I have the same problem.

I haven't really had time yet to play around with Boris. But I just opened the User Guide for the first time under Help, and went through it, chapter by chapter. But in my case, all the images are there in the text... So I am unable to replicate the problem.

Mind you, I was one of those users who, when first installing X4 Ultimate, did not have Boris show up in the FX box. I had to do a repair using the installation disc (I have the Ultimate boxed edition) and that fixed it. So I am wondering if a repair might help things with you too...

Hi

MikeA - Hi Mike. After using Boris Graffiti, have you worked out if you can do video masking? It looks like you can create vector splines and masks, but it is not very clear. I am really stuck. I know masking is a bit like Rotoscoping (tracing over a video image), but I want to mask off an area of a video - several frames, in fact. Any suggestions?

The online help doesn't even mention masks, all it talks about is text effects.
