Dear all
I posted this under another thread but am starting a new thread just to make sure everyone sees it.
I am checking with the engineers right now about the origin of the "you dead" error message, and would like to apologize on behalf of Ulead for this. It happens that engineers will write error messages as "placeholders" while they are coding, and obviously this one slipped through into the final version. I assure you now disrespect to anyone is intended.
As soon as we have identified it, we will make it a priority to release a patch or binary file to fix it, and I will announce such a fixe here in the forum. We are also working on a patch that will address many of the issues mentioned here, it should be released within a month.
Again, my apologies for any discomfort caused
Regards
Tobie

Tobie,
It is great to hear from Ulead and to think that a patch is on the way.
Although, I have to say that having removed the Data-Add component and downloaded the extra content which the Ulead website says does not exist and is not necessary, I am quite happy with my installation of MF4.
Is there any prospect that the email response from tech support will improve from it's present abysmally poor level. ie taking a month to supply a generic response such as try reinstalling.
Thank you

John, I see you are in Australia? Where did you send your customer service request to, that took 1 months for a response?
Cheers

It was submitted via the Ulead website.
You can find a number of references to similar responses on this forum.
Your appearance in the forum is a fantastic step forward. I look forward to your continued input.
I did experience the "you dead" message earlier, but I think my installation has out-grown it. I will try and reproduce it for you.

NEW: Message from Ulead re error messages and patch
Ok everyone, here is the fix for the "you dead" bug:
Go to:
http://ftp.ulead.com/Silent/dmf4/umfMenuSDK.zip
Download and unzip the umfMenuSDK.zip file into DVD MovieFactory 4 main program folder (C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4) to replace original one.
Again, our apologies and thank you for your patience.

Re: Message from Ulead re error messages and patch
Just wondering how this patch is coming along. I'd really like to use some of the new features of MF4, but have had to stay with MF3 due to the numerous roadblocks (bugs, anonolies, short comings, or whatever you want to call it) in MF4. Without the numerous issues being resolved, the new MF4 features are just unreachable "dangling carrots" for me.Tobie MSP8 wrote: ...
