I've been using MovieFactory for a while now. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I have 8GB of Ram. I've had virtually no issue until tonight. I am attempting to make a DVD that contains four .mp4 clips. In total, the presentation is 52 minutes long. It's a Wedding Video... Every Time, however, the burning results in the program crashing. I get the message, "Dvd Moviefactory has stopped working." It always occurs early in the process.
My program is up to date. I have re-installed, turned the compatibility to Windows XP-- and nothing. I have at least 8 failed burns. This has not happened before. The last project I burned, just a few days ago, was also an .mp4.
Anyone have a fix? This is a Wedding Video I need to get out soon!

Try burning folders first, rather than discs. That way at least you're not ending up with a bunch of coasters. If you can successfully create folders, and if you're using the full version, not the SE version, you can go back and use it to burn the folders to a disc.

Re: Dvd MovieFactory 7 Crashing.
I created a new project entirely and went to make DVD folders--- 'Failed to Burn.' Then tried to Burn ISO--- "Failed to Burn."
Next, I tried getting rid of the video on the main menu, placed a picture there instead. Tried burning to disk. Went to 25% and crashed on 'Converting Video of the Title 001/004'

Since the problem just happened recently... have you installed any burning program prior to the time the program was working and now that it is not working? If so, please disable the program from the systray of Windows or via the MSConfig.
Also you may want to check some of these old tips from the Corel KB.
"Make sure your CD/DVD burner is properly connected and secure whether it is internal (IDE) or external (USB/Firewire). Double check if your IDE CD/DVD burners are set to DMA mode. Refer to this link for help: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/st ... E-DMA.mspx
Check if the blank media that you are using is compatible with your burner. Most DVD burner manufacturers list supported brands/models of blank media on their Website. They also release firmware updates to improve reading/writing performance and increase the kinds of supported blank media.
If you have packet writing software that allows you to drag/drop files to your burner directly, try to disable or uninstall it because this type of software can take over the drive when a blank disc is inserted (format disc) causing other programs such as not recognizing a blank disc."
