Please help with problem while saving edited file
I use PSP x3 and I have a 3mb photo. When I edit and crop the photo, I then "save as". When I go back and ck the photo properties of the photo I saved after editing it has saved it at only 131kb. When I tried to get a large print developed, I was told the resolution was too low and the picture was pixelated. How do I save the edited photo and keep it at 3mb?

Hi
and welcome to the forums
First I don’t have PSP on this PC.
But what are the original frame sizes of your image in Pixels?
A 3 Mb image would be similar to 2000px X 1500Px
The cropping tool can be very powerful and quite destructive.
What setting did you set when cropping the image. (i assume you can choose crop settings)
What is the frame final dimensions in Pixels

As well as Trevor's comments as to how small you cropped your image (measured in pixels)
do the following:
In the SaveAs dialog, click on 'Options' and set the 'Compression' to 1 for mimimum compression.

Just adding to their suggestion. You can follow the steps from the Corel KB: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... -the-photo

A useful article but I think they must have Photoshopped the example.Abiel Corel NA wrote:Just adding to their suggestion.

You cannot enter a Compression Factor of ZERO
Also, I would be nervous of using "Lossless Encoding" in case another program couldn't read the image.

Hi Tadjio
I was unsure if the quality issue may be 72dpi related, given that the crop tool defaults to using that.
Haven’t had time to test PSP, it seems a little different to Photoshop, which can be very destructive in stripping out pixels?
I was hoping the OP-Jules_611 would reply?
