Hope this is the correct forum. Please advise if not.
Just installed PSP Pro X4 and tried to uninstall X3. Can't do it. Tried three times. Get an error msg: "The Installation Wizard encountered a problem while trying to configure your software. Could not access file: c:\users\thomas\appdata....\setup.msi -- The system cannot find the path specified. Would you like to continue? Yes No" When I choose Yes I get another error msg that says: "Installation Wizard not complete. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click finish to exit the wizard. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation. This installation requires administrative oo elevated privileges. Please contact your administrator and then retry this installation."
Anyone else have this problem? Better yet, does anyone have a solution?

Re: Cannot uninstall PSP X3 after installing PSP X4
Welcome to the forums,
I moved the post to the PSP forum.
Whenever I see the error message, This installation requires administrative oo elevated privileges, it generally means that you need to use the Admin Permissions of the OS. With Vista and Win7 to access this you need to right-click on the installer file and select Run as Admin. I understand that if can't do this from the Control Panel>Programs and Features. Try re-installing PSP X3. Since you already have it installed it should first want to uninstall it. However like I said, right-click on the install file, select Run as Admin, this will elevate it to Admin Permissions.
You can also try to disable U.A.C. (User Account Control). Settings>Control Panel>User Accounts, then select Turn User Account Control on or off.

Re: Cannot uninstall PSP X3 after installing PSP X4
If you are installing the download version of the program, I would suggest that you redownload the installer, since the error is caused by a corrupted installer. To redownload the file, you can either download it from the order email that was sent to you or you can go to your corel.com account and go to your order history section to locate the download link, though I cannot assure you that the download link will still be active, specially if you did not get the 2 year download insurance.JohnDaddyo wrote:I see a couple of posts on removing PSP but, what about the error message,

Re: Cannot uninstall PSP X3 after installing PSP X4
Gee Wiz. A year later. If you even get this I want to thank you for your reply. I must have missed the notification. Still trying without luck. I was able to download my X3 today. I went through the setup as an Admin and got the same rotten message:
c:/users\xxx\appdata\local\temp\corel paintshop pro photo x3\1.5.1.001\cds\setup.msi
Darn, I wish I would have started with PhotoShop years ago. No way I could re learn another program!
