Well this is intresting reading everyones replie's .. :D
Thanks a bunch to all who said that they are getting this problem too..
I've been using psp since it was under Jasc with version 7,then went on to 9 ,then 10,then11 and so on ..X4 is the best i've seen since version 10 as its fast loading everything is right in front of you ,doesn't freeze like the others did esp with big photos ect ...
But this horrid grey line i've never had it since i started doing psp all them years ago ,i use PNG daily within my job of tubing images and selling at a licensed art company ..and a do batched scripted images by PNG to resize to smaller and saves me tons of time by doing this...As some times i have over a hundred images all in PNG to resize...This is no good for my line of work ,why does corel have a forum if they are not going to show us any help, why make us pay all this money for something that simply doesn't work like all over versions did ..As i heard above i think X4 should be re-called and NEW sent to all who purchased ect, there are people out there saving for this item only to be disapointed in the results and i think we would all like to see results too ... :?

Yes we found that work around but the point is one shouldnt have to use the png optimizer at all ... never have had to in previous versions ... this is something new to psp in version X4 only.
That's not true with PSP8. If you don't use the PNG Optimizer, you don't get any transparency at all. A message comes up saying that the image must be merged and flattened. I don't know when that changed but it was somewhere between PSP8 and X2.
with respect png was something of a novelty back in 2000 when 7.00 was released. everyone was using gif. png was only fully ratified back in 2004.

all the modern versions of PSP have behaved as expected. the behaviour of psp x4 is simply a bug.
