X3 - How to copy multiple images to an exernal drive
My apologies ahead of time if this is a dumb question. I am new to PSP. I am just trying to identify and select a group of photos which I can then copy to an external USB drive to have prints made. I know how to identify and select the photos. I have been unable to figure out an easy way to copy all of the selected photos to an external drive. I can use 'Save As' to copy individual photos, but have been unable to figure out how to simply create a 'tag' and then copy all of the tagged photos to the drive. I can also copy all of the photos to a Media Tray, but cannot figure out how to work with a group of photos rather than just an individual photo. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

You could use the drag and drop method from your normal storage location to the USB drive or you could select the images then right-click/copy (or Ctrl+C) and then right-click/paste (or Ctrl+V) to the USB drive.

Re: X3 - How to copy multiple images to an exernal drive
Thanks for getting back to me, but I don't think either suggestion works for me. The images I have are normally spread all over the place, so I want to use PSP to group them either by using a 'tag' or by putting them into a 'Media Tray', then they are nicely grouped together. I cannot right-click/copy the group of images from PSP. That is what I really want to be able to do. I've tried that and it doesn't work. I can't even right-click/copy a specific image. The only way I've been able to do this in PSP is to 'save as' or 'copy' an individual photo. If it is only a few photos this isn't a big problem, but it is no fun with 40 photos. I keep thinking that I am missing something obvious here. Thanks again for your help.Kathy_9 wrote:You could use the drag and drop method from your normal storage location to the USB drive or you could select the images then right-click/copy (or Ctrl+C) and then right-click/paste (or Ctrl+V) to the USB drive.

The Manage portion of PSP does not actually manage the pictures physically. There are options for that, of course, but it's not meant to be a one stop shop for organizing your photos physically. It just keeps track of their locations and allows you to form virtual folders for easy access to them.
Also as far as I know there is no "Copy" function in the Manager so you would be physically moving the photos from all of those different folders onto your flash drive.
You do that by selecting the photos and dragging them from the preview list into the folder in the tree organizer.
But if you're looking for a good way to physically manage your photos the PSP Manage workspace is not designed for that.
The only other way to approach something like moving them all to a specific folder is to have them all open in the EDIT workspace and run a script that saves them all out but that takes a little programming on your part.

Thanks -this actually solves my problem, which I probably didn't explain clearly enough. I was thinking about trying to write a script next, but I don't have to do that thanks to your answer. I am now able to select and copy any group of photos I want to the flash drive by simply switching from the 'Collections' tab to the 'Computer' tab. Once on the Computer tab, my flash drive is available, and I can select all of the pictures and drag and drop them to the flash drive. Thanks again for all of the replies.LeviFiction wrote:The Manage portion of PSP does not actually manage the pictures physically. Re: X3 - How to copy multiple images to an exernal drive
If you happen to have PSP version 7 (which I find useful because it shows multiple images for each file) you simply keep CTRL pressed down and just click on each image. Then drag into whatever file you want. If you keep CAPS pressed down it "saves" all the images simultaneously by clicking on the first and the last.
I use X3 now but have kept the early version. Likely as not you can do the same with X3.
