Here I am attaching an image of what I am trying to do and I hope one of the programs in Corel can do.
Let me describe the scenario.
A user in Flash gets a picture, prepared with the inside of the box blank. The user selects a jpg color picture and fills the box. This is done by creating a point zone. (1) a way for flash to be texturized or painted.
No 1 is the box after is filled by the user. That is now.
No2 is the image, if I make the background blank as well as the inside.
No3 Is the image I need (nothing around it)
No 4 Is the background
No 5 Is if I use picture No1 (as I am doing now)
No6 Is if I use picture No2 (blanking the surrounding area as well the inside of the box)
No 7 Is I what I want.
Question: How do I convert No1 without the area around to look like and be like No3 as a symbol ?
By converting the image to a symbol or an Icon, then how can this be accomplished?
Convert a section of a picture to a symbol

Place the green shape on its own layer and use the magic wand tool to select the white areas. Hit "delete" to remove the white area. Then erase the border with the eraser tool is one way. But it will still only be a raster graphic (bitmap)
You can use the vector tools to recreate the shape without any problems.

Thanks for responding.
Two things:
1 What program from Corel are you recomending to do this? As I have to get it.
2 Once I have done your step1 how do I use the vector tools, can you elaborate a bit more?

Re: Convert a section of a picture to a symbol
1, this is a Paint Shop Pro forum. I'd assume that's what you wanted and that's probably what Levi had in mind. PSP X4 is the latest version and there's a 30 day free trial on Corel's website.
2, once you get the program installed go to the Edit tab, then click Help> Help Topics. You'll be taken to http://product.corel.com/help/PhotoPro/ ... 7F&single= Click Drawing and Editing Vector Objects about two thirds of the way down and you can see what can be done with vectors. Drawing preset shapes may be all that you need. There are many preset shapes.
If you get lost or stuck, don't be afraid to come back and ask more questions.
