Cropping & Centering

Post by twelvexes »

I'm sure there has to be an easy way to crop a video and center it, but I can't figure it out. I don't want the video zooming in and out, no panning, etc. Just simply cropping and centering. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You are using the Crop Filter correct? If so then you need to set your Crop, by using the percentages for the width/height, and the position on the first keyframe. You have opened the Customize dialog haven't you? The red triangles on the timeline in the customize dialog are keyframes. Now once you have everything set on the first keyframe, right-click on it, then from the menu, choose Copy/Paste All. Done!! Now it will not change, no panning, no zooming in or out.

Is this in the "Crop Borders" or "Cropping" filter? And when you say to set the %'s, do you mean adjusting the "dials" in the top left of the dialogue box?

If you place the video on one of the overlay track, you will be able to use the ALIGNMENT OPTIONS via the ATTRIBUTE screen.
