WIA scanner

Post by chaucersmom »

I just purchased a new scanner -- CanoScan LIDE 110. It is a WIA scanner. I can scan successfully into PSPro X3 from the scanner by using the "import from scanner". But I want to use the scanner icon in the toolbar line to start the scan. It appears that shortcut button is looking only for a twain scanner because it says "No scanner found." How do I get the shortcut scanner icon to look for my WIA scanner?

Yes, the scanner icon is for TWAIN.

The icon for "From scanner or Camera" is a camera icon. So you can replace the icon on the standard toolbar but it won't look like a scanner.

If you want to do that go to your View menu and select "Customize" from the bottom. In the commands tab under "File" you should see an option to import from scanner or camera. Drag that onto the toolbar next to the scanner and then you can use it.

Thanks LeviFiction, that worked! The icon looks like a camera.

Firstly you have to set the Source within File > Import > TWAIN Source...
TWAIN or WIA Source
TWAIN or WIA Source
Then you can either Click on the Scan... Icon in the Menu
or you can use File > Import > TWAIN Acquire...

It's good to find I can use WIA Acquire from my iPhone :D
