ad hoc recording to voice track not working with X4 5.1 mode

I have an
Acer Aspire 5250
x64
AMD C-50 1GH x 2 cores
BIOS Acer v1.01 4/21/11
SMBIOS 2.7
RAM 4GB (MAX
sound Conexant

X4 will not record sound only from the built in mics or even worse the sound input jack
===> error can not open the wav in device

Now it seems that this is only when in 5.1 mode - works ok when it's normal mode.....

it could be that your hardware cannot support 5.1 audio that is why it only work on normal mode. Better check with acer to verify that.
