Hi
I have VS X2 Pro (version 12.0.98.1 pro) running windows 7 Home premium (64-bit). I copied all the clips that I want to include into my movie to the timeline. Now when I click on any clip, VS hangs. I have to kill it from the task manager. The same clip plays fine outside VS on Windows Media player for example. This happens with any clip from any camcorder.
When I play the whole project it plays fine. It is only when I select a clip from the timeline or storyboard and play that clip that it hangs.
any ideas? As far as I know, I have downloaded all the latest version of the patches.
thanks

Are these clips -- even though from different camcorders -- in the same format e.g. AVCHD?This happens with any clip from any camcorder.
You have also never filled in your computer details in your Profile. This is the sort of occasion where it is extremely useful to know your computer specifications. So could you please go to the User Control Panel link in the extreme top left of this page and fill in the details there please: http://forum.corel.com/EN/ucp.php

Hi Ken
Yes all clips from the different camcorders are AVCHD. These are digital HD camcorders.
I have also updated my profile.
Thanks

Re: VS X2 hangs when playing any clip
Thanks for the computer specifications. While at the lower end of the scale, they show at least that your computer should be able to handle AVCHD which, as you may know, is the most demanding format currently around on computer resources. Mind you, I would be trying to use X2 with SmartProxy switched on... That creates standard definition copies of your high def originals which are easier to edit. And when you finish editing, the changes are applied to the AVCHD.
When you say you are clicking on the clips in the timeline, what is the purpose of the clicking? Just to select the clip and then click the play button in Clip mode? Or are you trying to play it by double clicking?
